Trippin Taco, a halal Mexican cuisine concept located at 5600 Richmond Ave., is bringing its first food truck to Houston with a grand opening celebration on November 8 and 9. The weekend-long event features free food, 50% discounts, giveaways and more.
Trippin Taco redefines Mexican cuisine by serving authentic flavors made with premium halal Angus beef. Founded by Ahmad Kilani, the creator of Clutch City Cluckers and Juicy Joint, the brand blends Houston’s vibrant food culture with culinary inspiration drawn from Mexico City.
We’ve spent months perfecting every recipe to bring authentic Mexican flavors with our own halal twist. Houston has such an incredible food scene and we can’t wait to share this new concept with the community.

The celebration kicks off on Saturday, November 8, with a 5 p.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony and a live mariachi performance by Elegancia de Mexico. The first 150 guests receive a free beef birria combo and drink, followed by 50% off the entire menu for all attendees. Guests can also spin the prize wheel for a chance to win free food, merch, or gift cards, and participate in social media giveaways by tagging @TrippinTacoUS on Instagram.
During the grand opening, guests can also join the Taco-Eating Contest, a fast-paced challenge where participants have two minutes to eat as many tacos as they can. The top eater wins Trippin Taco gift cards and serious bragging rights.
On Sunday, November 9, at 10 a.m., the celebration continues with 50% off all menu items all day long or until supplies last.
Featured menu offerings include Drip-Drip Ramen, Trippin’ Tamales, birria and barbacoa tacos, pupusas, and more. For dessert, guests can enjoy the Churro-Berry Gasm - crispy churros topped with fresh strawberries, Mexican crema, and a dusting of cinnamon-maple sprinkles.
