Akram is no stranger to Houston’s food scene. As the visionary behind Al Hawi, Houston’s most beloved Mediterranean charcoal grill BBQ food truck, he earned a reputation for redefining authentic flavors with his mastery of cooking over real fire. With Shawarma King, Akram extends that legacy, bringing the same passion, authenticity, and dedication to quality that made Al Hawi a local favorite.
Joining him is Chef Khaled Charif, a celebrated master of Lebanese cuisine and Food Network feature on The Grill Dads. Born and raised in Lebanon to a Lebanese father and Greek mother, Charif grew up immersed in Mediterranean flavors and traditions.
Before joining Shawarma King, Charif founded and operated Pita Bites, a successful food truck and catering brand, honing his bold, smoky flavors and deep respect for culinary heritage.
